For the very first time in Québec City, families are invited to take part in BIG BANG, which will take place during the Printemps de la musique. Children can come have fun and enter Le Diamant, our host for a day of musical discoveries and sonic adventures. Quirky concerts, surprise performances, sound installations and creative activities are on the menu, to the delight of young and old alike.

Created by Zonzo Compagnie in Belgium, BIG BANG has grown into a network of festivals in 15 European cities and has even extended its reach to Ottawa. Québec City has become the second North American stop of this fantastic celebration of music and sound for children and families!

An astonishing combination of two fascinating instruments performing classical pieces from as far back as the 15th century.

FANFARE MONFARLEAU

The Fanfare Monfarleau, which recreates the brass bands of towns and villages of yesteryear, will make you jump up and dance with quadrilles and jigs, marches and songs of La Bolduc, to the sound of brass instruments, fiddle, clarinet and drum. “Old-timer” music will strike a chord in your heart, with the sound of the old brass bands keeping alive the same spirit that makes us tap our feet and get into the dance!

Martin et Simone Lizotte
Virtuoso if there ever was one, Martin Lizotte launches into jazz improvisation on the legendary golden piano of Le Diamant, accompanied by his daughter Simone on vocals. A sparkling father-daughter duo that will thrill you from head to heart!

Interactive audio stroll – Zonzo compagnie (Belgique)

Join us for a thrilling auditory trip! Headphones on, choose your favourite track and dive into a universe where sounds, movement and words come together and create a colourful score. Here, words and sounds propel you into space and invite you to move your body! Follow the tempo, feel the crescendo, just let go!

TATTOOS, ARTS AND CRAFTS, SELFIES

All day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

At the BIG BANG, there are a few must-see stops on your way between shows.

1 – The tattoo station, where you can get a sweet star-shaped tattoo.

2 – The arts and crafts station, where you can make your very own crown.

3 – With your crown on your head and your tattoo on your arm, give us your biggest smile in front of the selfie wall, or anywhere else in Le Diamant.

You’ll leave with a great keepsake of your adventure at the festival.

Les Incomplètes

Fondée en 2011 à Québec, Les Incomplètes est une compagnie de recherche et de création explorant les croisements entre arts vivants et arts visuels. Bien qu’elle s’adresse à tous les publics, la compagnie mène une recherche continue en direction du jeune public, la petite enfance en particulier.

Festival BIG BANG

Initié par Zonzo compagnie en Belgique, le BIG BANG est devenu un réseau de festivals présents dans une quinzaine de villes européennes et a même étendu ses racines jusqu’à Ottawa. La ville de Québec devient la deuxième escale nord-américaine de cette fantastique célébration de la musique et du son pour les enfants et la famille!
