Something in the Air
Songs and dances from New France
A repertoire of songs and dances that made the journey from France to the New World in the 17th century. Hailing from Brittany, Vendée, Normandy and other regions of France, these tunes passed down through oral tradition in Quebec and Acadia are accompanied by the traditional dances and instruments of these regions: fiddle, hurdy-gurdy, tabor pipe and French bagpipes.
